Market advisory and research service providers for telecommunications and information technology industries estimate that by 2019 cloud solutions would have been developed autonomic computing to such a level that would require lesser workforce. As general IT related jobs become extinct, newer job profiles with skills in API (application programming interfaces), virtualization, and automation become the norm.
Most of such skill sets are related to the software domain. Software-defined data centers, enable enterprises to create self-service interfaces to configure cloud storage. Knowledge of programming languages is has already been adopted by countries which are technically advanced while India is still in the state of adopting it and there are huge opportunities for cloud computing. As of now many IT multinationals have taken advantage of this fact and established themselves as cloud service providers in India. The development is in line with evolving change in technologies which has been happening over the last three decades.
Further, the development of IoT is rapidly approaching take-off point primarily due to advancements in cloud technology. The IoT (which means the Internet of Things) is a system in which the Internet connects devices that have unique identifiers (similar to fingerprints). They can transfer data through networks without any interaction from humans or machines.
What is Cloud Computing?
The delivery of data using the Internet to data centres is the primary function of cloud computing. The data is used to build applications in the cloud itself which is Platform as a service (PaaS). These applications run on computing devices that may be in the cloud or offsite which in turn connects users via web browsers. Application execution is Software as a Service (SaaS). The cloud houses every sort of infrastructure such as servers, networking, storage, and data centers. Businesses no longer need to invest in capital expenses such as buying new infrastructure. By harnessing the power of the cloud, they pay as per use which translates to (IaaS) meaning Infrastructure as a Service.
Cloud Computing and IoT
Both work in tandem which increases efficiency at the lowest possible cost. The IoT is a massive data generator and the cloud helps in delivering that data to the right destination. But the enterprises involved in the cloud business, are still facing certain challenges in terms of effective utilisation of received data. IT managers who are working on Cloud technology in India have rated that the biggest challenge is an effective analysis of massive amount of data. They are working to speed up the analysis so that actionable results can be obtained. However, computing on the cloud allows businesses to compete with agility as they are not constrained by hardware problems. Software enables people to use the power of machines to bring about affordable and reliable results. The cloud is a powerful tool which is changing the course of history and we as Hitachi Systems Micro Clinic are helping customers in their journey from cable to cloud.
